1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes activities that are prohibited when using the embedio Service. It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. We may update it from time to time; material changes will be communicated the same way as changes to our Terms.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Service to collect, store, transmit, or generate content that:

  • Is illegal, or facilitates illegal activity, in any jurisdiction where you or your End Users are located
  • Infringes or misappropriates another party's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
  • Contains malware, or is designed to compromise the security of any system
  • Sexually exploits or endangers minors in any way; we have zero tolerance for this and will report it to the relevant authorities
  • Is intended to deceive, defraud, or phish End Users, including collecting payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or account passwords through a form without appropriate safeguards
  • Constitutes hate speech, harassment, or credible threats of violence against any individual or group

3. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Use the Service to send spam, or to collect newsletter sign-ups or contact submissions without the End User's knowledge or consent
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage limits, or module restrictions, or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the Service
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of our SDK, widgets, or APIs, except as permitted by law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another customer's account, data, or API keys, including through credential stuffing or brute-force attempts, which our systems actively monitor for and block
  • Resell or provide the Service to third parties as your own product without our written agreement
  • Use the Service in a way that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair it, or interfere with any other party's use of it

4. AI-Specific Restrictions

If you use AI Chat or other AI-powered features, you additionally agree not to:

  • Configure or use the assistant to present itself as a licensed professional or to provide individualized medical, legal, or financial advice on which End Users are invited to rely as such
  • Feed the knowledge base with sensitive personal information about identifiable individuals, such as health, financial account, or government ID information, without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards
  • Attempt to bypass the assistant's safety instructions through prompt injection, jailbreaking, or similar techniques, or use it to generate content that would violate Section 2 above
  • Use AI Chat outputs as the sole, automated basis for a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects about an individual, such as denying someone a service or benefit, without meaningful human review

5. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations of this AUP and take action we deem appropriate, including removing or disabling content, disabling a specific module on your project, or suspending or terminating your account, with notice where practical. Violations that involve illegal content will be reported to law enforcement as appropriate.

6. Reporting Abuse

If you believe content or conduct on the Service violates this AUP, email contact@tryembedio.com with details, including the project or URL involved.
